Pharmacognostical Studies on the Chinese Crude Drug "Fu pen zi" (5) : Botanical Origin of "Fu pen zi" from China Mainland

"Fu pen zi" from China is available in the markets of China mainland, Hongkong, Thailand, Japan and so on. In this paper, in order to identify the botanical origin of Chinese "Fu pen zi" available mainly, Rubus corchorifolius L.f., R. chingii HU, R. kisoensis NAKAI, R. palmatus THUNB., R. grayanus MAXIM, and R. ribisoideus MATSUM. of Sect. Corchorifolii and R. peltatus MAXIM, of Sect. Peltati, of Rubus plants growing wildly in Japan, were studied anatomically. The results showed that this "Fu pen zi" corresponded well to the fruits of R. chingii HU. Its developmental degree was very immature or immature stage of the fruits.
