Identification of Major Constituents of a Saussurea gossypiphora Collected in Himalaya

From a chloroform extract of the aerial part of Saussurea gossypiphora collected in Himalaya, hydrocarbons (heptacosane, nonacosane, and hentriacotane), triterpenes (α-amyrin, β-amyrin, and lupeol), and their acetates and palmitates were isolated and identified. Fructose, glucose and sucrose were also identified in the ethanol extract.
