NMR Investigations on the Spin Fluctuations in Itinerant Antiferromagnets III. CrB_2

The rrorerties of the srin fluctuation,s in the tvrical d-band metal Crux havebeeu? studied in both the paramagnetic and the ordered states by usin)g the pulsedNMR technique. The temperature dependences of the staggered nnoment M.and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T? of "B above 7'N are iiound to beexplained neither from the spin fltuctuation theory of weakly antife?'romagneticlimit nor from the local moment limit, indicating that CrBz is an iv'rtermediatesubstance in the magnetic point of view. It could be pointed out however that theobserved Curie-Weiss behavior of the uniform susceptibility z.(I) xvith a largenegative Weiss constant (0.: -900K) is a manifestation of the case where theamplitude of the spin density fluctuations is relatively large, corres;ponding tostrong electron-electron interactions and is in general accord wit}t the recentunified theory of magnetism in narrow band electron systems.
