Anomalous Temperature Dependence of ^<139>La Nuclear Spin-Lattice Relaxation in La_2CuO_<4-δ> and (La_<0.9>Ca_<0.1>)_2CuO_<4-δ>

Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time (7'.) of "'La in the antiferromagnet LazCu0. ,and the superconductor (La. ,Ca...).Cu0. ,5 has been measured in a zero applied fieldand temperature ranges of 1.7 K-299 K and 1.8 K?-130 K, respectively. A divergentbehavior of the relaxation rate (1/7'.) toward tlae Neel temperature (7'.:250K)which is characteristic of itinerant antiferromagnets has been observed in La.Cu0. ,above T : 70 K. An anomalous enhancement of 1 / T.(T ) below about 70 K has beenobserved in both oxides. Because of this unclarified enhancement, the change of1 / T.(T) which is associated with the superconducting transition was not observed in(La..,Ca...).Cu0. , below T.= IS K.[nuclear quadrupole resonance, "'La, nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time, lf La.Cu0. ,5, itinerant antiferromagnet, (La..,Ca...).Cu0. , superconductor l
