NMR Investigations on the Spin Fluctuations in Itinerant Antiferromagnets. II. V_3S_4 and V_5S_8

The properties of the spin density fluctuations in the itinerant antiferromagneticcomrounds V3S4 and VsSs have been investixated in both the raramaunetic andthe antiferromagnetic states by usin.g tlxe pulsed NMR technique. Although it hasbeen proposed that V3S. is one of weak itinerant antiferromagnets because ofthe low ordering temperature, small staggered moment Mq and the temperaturedependen.ce of M,., the temperature dependence of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxa-lion rate 1 /T. are not in accord with the prediction based on the self-consistentrenormalization theory of spin fluctuations for weak itinerant antiferromagnets.In V 5 S., the observed temperature independent process of ]/7'. in the paramag-netic state and the temperature dependences of the bulk susceptibility and Mqare not explained from either weakly magnetic limit or localized moment limit,suggesting this material is in the intermediate magnetic regime.
