Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation in the Metallic Localized Moment System Ir_2MnGa

The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time T. of "Ga and "Ga in the antiferromagnetic Heusler alloy Ir.MnGa has been measured in the paramagnetic state. Theobserved l / T. for 7'>>T. is explained quantitatively by the exchange-coupled localized moment fluctuations. This indicates that the correlation time of theparamagnetic spin fluctuations is well characterized by the exchange frequency oflocalized moments, in contrast to the case of the temperature-induced localizedmoments where the frequency spectrum of the fluctuations spreads over a muchhigher frequency.[Mn Heusler alloy, metallic localized moment system, spin fluctuations, NMR ll spin-lattice relaxationl
