^<63>Cu(2) Nuclear Spin-Spin Relaxation in YBa_2Cu_3O_<6.98>, YBa_2(^<63>Cu)_3O_<7-δ>, and YBa_2Cu_4O_8

We have measured the temperature dependence of the transverse relaxation time of"Cu (2) nuclear spin in YBa.Cu,O..,., YBa.("Cu),O, and YBa,Cu.0.. After subtrac-lion of the T. process, the decay curve of the spin-echo envelope for YBa.Cu.0. in astrong H. followed a single Gaussian form from 280K to 4.2 K, while forYB82CLl,0,.,. it follows only above T.. The absolute value and the temperaturedependence of the decay rate 1 / "T. could be understood by the combined contribu-tions of the direct dipole-dipole and the temperature-dependent indirect nuclear spin-spin coupling via "7. (<7). From the temperature dependence of 1 /"T.for YBa.Cu.O.below T., we considered that 7.(Q) even below T. remains enhanced. In a viewpointof the "Cu(2) nuclear spin-spin relaxation experiments, so far as YBazCu.0. is con-cerned, the high-7'. superconductivity seems to exhibit the d-wave pairing.[nuclear quadrupole resonance, transverse relaxation, nuclear spin spin interac- ]} tion, second moment, high T. cupric oxide superconductor, d wave pairing j
