Anomalous Metallic State Coexisting with the Charge Density Wave in Rb_3Cu_8S_6 Studied by NMR and Spin Echo Double Resonance (SEDOR)

The tauetallic state below the charge density w'ave (CDXX7) transition tetmperature of Rb3CtrgS5has been sttrdied by NIVIR. and spin echo dotrble resonance (SEDOR). This compottnd is knownto show metallic char?rcteristics below T.x:55 K, althotrgh the CDW already sets in at V'.1=120K. It has been fotrnd that some of the Cu-NIVIF{ lines start to spread out l*elow 'Z'.1 , and remainbroadened even below T.7. In order to gain ftrrther insight into the st?tte below T.z, xve appliedSEDOR to the broadetaed Ctr-lines below T.7. A double-horned sh?rpe characteristic of CDWstates was found in one of the SEDOR spectra, which is considered to be a manifestation of thepresence of the CDW even below 'Z'.2. The SEDOR redtrction is attributed to a kind of motion inthe CDW chaitas. On the other hand, the spita-lattice relaxation rate at the Rlc sites was foundto decrease rapidly below T.?, itaaplying that the Rb sites are not inert, btrt play important rolesin this rrtetallic state. As a possible zaaechanisuau for this anonualous tnetallic state, tlae spinless(charc'ed)-soliton conduction on the CDW chains is discttssed.
