A plant glycosphingolipid, O-(β-D-mannopyranosyl)-(1→4)-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1→1)-(2S,3S,4R)-4-hydroxy-N-tetracosanoylsphinganine 1, and the stereoisomer, O-(α-D-mannopyranosyl)-(1→4)-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1→1)-(2S,3S,4R)-4-hydroxy-N-tetracosanoylsphinganine 6, were synthesized in a stereo- and regio-controlled way.
