From the roots of Adenophora stricta subsp. sessilifolia, a new triterpene, sessilifolic acid 3-O-isovalerate (3β-O-isovaleryloxylup-20(29)-en-24-oic acid) was isolated along with β-sitosteryl pentadecanoate, β-sitosteryl palmitate, β-sitosterol, ikshusterol, β-sitosteryl glucoside, lupenone and 24-methylene cycloartanol.
