Rayleigh and Brillouin Scattering in RbH_3(SeO_3)_2 near the Phase Transition Temperature

Rayleigh and Bri][ouin scattering spectra of RbH.(Se0.). have been observedaround the phase transition temperature T... The temperature dependence ofthe Brillouin frequency shifts shows a small anomaly near T. in all the tlu'eeprincipal directions. The sound-velocity dispersion is found only in the c55transverse mode. The intensity of the Rayleigh component is insensitive to tem-perature even just near T.. The existence of dynamic clusters above T. is dis-cussed and its characteristic frequency is roughly estimated, while static clustersare concluded not to exist in the same temperature region.
