Brillouin Scattering Frequency Shift in the Incommesurate (Antiferroelectric) Phase of NaNO_2

Brillouin scattering spectra of NaN0z were observed in the incommensurate(antiferroelectric) phase under a precise temperature regulation. In the temperaturedependence curve of the Brillouin frequency shift concerned with a longitudinalacoustic mode propagating along the [010] direction, an anomaly was found atthe normal-incommensurate phase transition point. The arromaly appeared as abend in contrast to the dip reported in the recent ultrasonic study.
