An Obligate Methylotrophic Hyphomicrobium Strain Identification, Growth Characteristics and Cell Composition

A new strain of Hyphomicrobium, which is an obligate methyotroph, was identified and named H. methylovorum sp. nov. Some growth characteristics of the strain were investigated. Cell composition and amino acid analyses revealed that dry cells of the strain contained about 60% crude protein consisting of much lysine.
