The superconductivity and magnetic properties of DyBa_2Cu_3O_y are reported. Superconducting properties are compared with those of YBa_2Cu_3O_y. No significant effect is observed by replacing Y with Dy. Magnetic properties of a quenched DyBa_2Cu_3O_y which is not metallic, are also reported. From the susceptibility and the magnetization at low temperatures, an antiferromagnetic transition is suggested at about 0.85 K and the magnetic moment in the ground state is estimated to be 6-7 μ_B. It is argued that the magnetic order is mainly due to dipolar interactions.
