Successive Antiferromagnetic Transitions and Magnetic Susceptibility of YBa_2Cu_<3-x>Co_xO_y

Magnetic susceptibility of YBa.Cu. ..Co...0. (.v=0.O6 -0.3 witlt tetragonal struclure) ltas been studied, being focused on the successive antiferromagnetic transitions,T.. and T..., wltere the susceptibility(z)-vez"vtz.s-temj'>erature( T ) curve has kinks. TheT.., ranging betweext 18 K and 90 K, was nearly proportional to ,v, but little dependent on y. The T., near 6 K, was alntost ir?dependent botla on x and y. The trautsulions were analyzed based on a molecular field approximation, as secondary antil'erromagnetic transitions accompanying a magnetic order of Co ions in the chain site.The characteristics of these transitions Ftave been well explained with parameters of./.,=1400K, l./,l,:l60K, V,-f-8D=(180460)K, ;tnd ./.=(80440)K; where theparameters are excltauage interactions between Cu" spins (J., J.), between Cu" andCo"- spins (.7,), bc1.ween Co" spiuts (,/.) and a crystalline magnetic anisotropy (D).The good fitting of tlte model stuggests tltat tltese m;tgnetic orders are inherent in theYBa.Cu..0.. structure.
