Pressure Induced Phase Transition of Ferromagnetic Hf_<0.9>Ta_<0.1>Fe_2

Electrical resistance and thermal expansion were measured on ferromagneticHfg.gTa(,..Fe. specimens under various pressures. A knee-like anomaly peak atthe Curie.temperature T. is observed, and T. decreases rapidly at a rate of about- 7 K/kbar in pressure coefficient. Under pressu?'e above 8 kbar abrupt changesin electrical resistance and thermal expansion are observed at lower temperatureT. and knee-like anomalies in both quantities are found at higher temperature12. Pressure dependencies of T., T. and T. are obtained and a tricritical point isfound to be located at 8.030,5 kbar and 285.[5 K. These results suggest that anantiferromagnetic phase is induced under pressure above 8 kbar and in thetemperature range between T, and Tz.
