The magnetic properties of' dotrble jceroxxskite oxide Sr3FeXX7O(5 hatxze been reported. The l1121gnetic sttsceptibility and IN/I6ssb?rtrer efl'ect of' "Fe shoxv tlaat this coutapotrnd is an antiferronaagnetwith Tz : 37 K. The lVI6ss1oatrer p?aranaaeters l)CIIOXV '?2O K are the center shif't of' -F-1.2 111111 / s relatixve to nuetallic iron, the qtradrtrpole splitting of' 1.9 111111/S ?rnd the hyperfine field of xi TO k0e.The qtradrtupole splitting h?rs a stro?ag tet?aper'atttrre dependence. FIOIII these data, xve concltrdethat Fe in SrzFeNX'0c; is in flue Fe" higla-spin state, xvhile the hy'perfitte field seetaas to be qtritesnaaall. The cell VOILIIIIC shoxvs a lsxrge increase cotaapared to other SrzFeTO(; (T = .NIo, Re, etc.),xvhich is in the Fe" high-spin st?tte. These restrlts strggest tlaat these cota?potrnds haxve a stronglycoupled charge ?tnd lattice systeta?s.
