Phospholipase D was purified from Streptomyces antibioticus by column chromatography and chromatofocusing. The enzyme preparation was electrophoretically homogeneous and the molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated to be 64,000. Its isoelectric point was around pH 6.5. The enzyme was most active at pH 5.5and at around 60℃. It was stable between pH 4 and 8, and below 50℃.
