Electronic states of naanganese silicides with the composition of IVInSi or IN/InSi).7 xvere inves-tigated by sof't X-ray eta?ission spectroscopy. The formation of lVInSi and lVInSi).7 with singlephase XV2lLS identified by X-ray difTractioza. 81-Hz and Si-L3,3 etnission-band spectrtt xvere tmeasured, where the 81-Hz reflects the valence-band density of states with p-sytnnaetry and the latterreflects the one with s- and/or d-symnaetry. The spectrtruaa of Si-Lg.3 for Ix/InSi).7 was differentfrona that of' lVInSi. The origin of this difT'erence is disctrssed in coutaparison xvith those of othersilicides.
