Spin Scattering in Small Metallic Particles

By measuring the Knig}zt shifts of Cu NMR in small particles of Cu-Mn alloys withmean diameter of 60 A, we showed that the anomaly in the spin susceptibility due tothe level quantization of conduction electrons can be suppressed by the spin scatter-ing. The condition for sufficient suppression was r.<< h /J where r. is the spin scatter-ing time and i the mean level spacing.small particle, level quantization, spin scattering
