NMR Study of Superconducting Sn Small Particles

The NMR shift, line shape and spin-lattice relaxation time of superconducting smallparticles of Sn were measured at temperatures between 1.3 and 4.2 K and in magneticfields between 5.6 and 30 k0e. The mean size ranged from 70 to 450 A in diameter. Thecritical field of the particles proved to be in agreement with the theory. In low fields, thefluctuation theory, which takes into account the effect of spin-orbit interaction, wellreproduces the experimental results for large particles. The consideration of levelquantization effect in addition to the fluctuation theory allows qualitative understand-ing of the results for smaller particles.
