Clinical Evaluation of a New Type Panendoscope GIF Type P2

A new small caliber fiberscope, the GIF Type P2, was used in 617 upper gastrointestinal endoscopies for 554 cases from August 1977 to February 1978 at the Endoscopy Center of Tokai University Hospital, as a panendoscope with multipurpose applications. Diagnostic endoscopy, endoscopic polypectomy, ERCP, endoscopic extraction of intraluminal foreign bodies, etc. were clinically evaluated. The results showed that the GIF Type P2 is very useful for screening panendoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract.
