A positive magnetoresistance which is independent of the field direction has beenobserved in Si(100) w-channel inversion layers. Magnetic field and temperaturedependences of the magnetoconductivity in the field parallel to the interface havebeen measured in the field up to l .7 T at temperatures between 4.2 K and 1 . I K. Themagnetoconductivity A o77( 71?) / (7(0) is descri bed as a function of B / ( T - 0), where thecharacteristic temperature 0 depends on the conductivity and 0< 0. No existing theorycan explain the experimental results.
