CLINICO-PATHOLOGICAL STUDY OF REACTIVE LYMPHOID HYPERPLASIA OF STOMACH:Consideration about the malignant change and the new classification

Clinical and pathohistological study on two cases with reactive lymphoid hyperplasia (R.L.H.) was done, which have malignant tumor-like characteristics. The lesion of one case was the diffuse R.L.H. in which the co-existence of localized reticulosarcom was noticed. The lesion of the remaining case was the so-called border line R.L.H., in which it is difficult to determine whether benign or malignant histologically, though showing the malignant appearance macroscopically. As a result of the study, it is thought that R.L.H. of the stomach should be classified into two types;A) reactive hyperplasia of lymph tissue against the gastric ulcerative lesions.B) primary lesion of lymph tissue in which there is evidently a tumor forming tendency.As some of B type of lesions may possibly change to malignancy, an early operation or strict follow-up study should be necessary.
