Regions in situ-hybridized by the Arabidopsis-type telomere sequence repeats in Zamia chromosomes

The position in situ-hybridized by the Arabidopsis-type telomere sequence repeats was located not only in the ordinary, terminal region but also in some centromeric regions in Zamia chromosomes at mitotic metaphase : e.g., the terminal and the centromeric regions of all chromosomes and the interstitial region in the short arm in two subterminal-centromeric chromosomes of the complement in Z integrifolia (2n=16) ; the terminal region of all chromosomes and the centromeric region of eight chromosomes in Z. furfuracea (2n=18) ; and the terminal region of all chromosomes and the centromeric region of five chromosomes and the nterstitial region in two acro-centromeric chromosomes in Z muricata (2n=23). These hybridized positions in certain centromeric regions were much larger in size than those in the terminal regions and might not have quite the same sequences as the Arabidopsis-type telomere sequence repeats.
