Physical mapping of rDNA by fluorescent in situ hybridization using pTa71 probe in three tetraploid species of Dendranthema

Three tetraploid (2n=36) species of Dendranthema, Chinese D. chanetii, Chinese D. indica and Japanese D. yoshinagantha, were studied by the fluorescent in situ hybridization method using the pTa71 probe consisted of 18S-5.8S-26S rDNA sequences and non-transcribed spacer sequences at NOR's of the sat-chromosomes. Eight hybridization signals common to D. chanetii and D. indica and ten hybridization signals in D. yoshinagantha were reported here for the first time. The number of signals in D. yoshinagantha was exactly the same as that of satellites described previously.
