Millimeter-wave response mechanism of slot antenna coupled YBCO microbridge

A slot-antenna-coupled YBCO microbridge was fabricated. Response mechanism of the device biased in the resistive state consists of the bolometric response and the nonbolometric response due to the vortex motion. The measurements of current-voltage (I-V) characteristics and the video detection property at 94 GHz were performed in order to make the response mechanism clear and to obtain operating conditions that dominated the bolometric and nonbolometric responses. Then, IF properties at 94 GHz were investigated to evaluate the response speed of the device. The IF bandwidth in the bolometric response was constant of about 60 MHz. On the other hand, the bandwidth in the flux flow response increased as the bias current increased, up to 1.2 GHz.
