The magnetization of a random magnet, Ni.Mg,. .,(OH)2, was investigatedat liquid helium temperatures in an applied field up to 85 k0e. Ni(OH). is aquasi-two-dimensional antiferromagnet accompanying a metamagnetic transitionat 55 k0e. The transition field decreased as lowering of p and vanished at p z0.3 -0.4, that is, somewhere about a critical cc>ncentration pJ which was esti-mated by only taking into account strong ferrom'nagnetic itrtralayer interactions.Below pxO.3, the magnetization had a different behavjc>ur from that of themetamagnet. Therefore, from pJ to the observed critical concentration p. -0.1,the system is considered as taking a spin arrangement different from a collinearantiferromagnetic one as in Ni(OH).. The magnetizatioma suggested that theferromagnetic clusters are present and are interacting each other through weakantiferromagnetic interactions at low concentrations.
