Shock loading experiments were carried out on arc-melted Nb_3Si over the pressure range 50-110 GPa using a two-stage light gas gun. T_c for the superconducting phase observed in specimens subjected to shock was 18 K and -(dH_<c2>/dT) was 1.23 tesla/K. The observed high-T_c phase is most probably A-15 Nb_3Si transformed from the tetragonal Nb_3Si (Ti_3P type) phase during shock loading.
