Superconductivity in the Potassium Graphite Hydride C_8KH_<0.19>

The superconductivity in C.KH.... (a hydride of the first stage potassiumgraphite intercalation compound) was observed in AC magnetic susceptibilitymeasurements. The transition temperature T. is 220 mK. The superconductingcharacteristic is type I for the magnetic field H perpendicular to the layers andtype II for H parallel to the layers. The temperature dependence of the criticalfields is also investigated. These results are compared with those of the potassiumgraphite. I'. enhancement by hydrogenation has been confirmed.
