Temperature Dependence of the Absorption Spectra ^6A_<1g>→^4A_<1g>(^4G),^4E_g(^4G) in the Quasi Two-Dimensional Antiferromagnets (C_nH_<2n+1>NH_3)_2MnCl_4 (n=2,3)

The absorption spectra corresponding to the transiticcns 'A..+'A..('G),'E.('G) in (C.H....NH.).MnCl.(n=2, 3) were measured between liquid heliumand room temperatures. The temperature dependence of the integrated intensitiesof these spectra suggests that magnon assisted electric dipole transitions aredominant in these spectra. The temperature dependence of energies of theseabsorption spectra is very similar to that of the nearest neighbour spin paircorrelation function which reflects mainly the energy of short wave-length magnon.The temperature dependence of the integrated intensities and the energies of theseabsorption spectra shows the two-dimensional magnetic character.
