The conduction electron spin susceptibility of small metallic particles with elec-irons of evj:n number vanishes at T=0. Using NMR, we observed the recovery of thisanomalous susceptibility in small particles of Cu when the spin-orbit interaction isenhanced by adding Au impurities. The result is similar to what happens withmagnetic impurities, although the mechanisms are sulvstantially different.
