Reaction of 3,4,5-trichloropyridazine (IV) with sodium methoxide was examined. 4-Azidopyridazine 1-oxide (XVII) and 5-azidopyridazine 1-oxide (XXI) were synthesized from corresponding hydrazino compounds (XIV, XX) with nitrous acid, and XVII was also derived from 4-chloropyridazine 1-oxide (XIII) with sodium azide.
