Transcription of a Gene for 6-Aminohexanoic Acid Linear Oligomer Hydrolase of Flavobacterium sp. KI72 in Escherichia coli

A transcript produced in Escherichia coli of the 6-aminohexanoic acid linear oligomer hydroiase (EII) gene of Flavobacterium sp. KI72 was analyzed by Northern hybridization and S1 mapping. Fairly long mRNAs (7 and 9 kb) were identified as products of EII transcription. Transcription was initiated near the promoter-like region 6.0 kb upstream from the EII structural gene.
