Quasi two-dimensional conductor a-(BEDT-TTF)3KHg(SCN)j has an anoznalous electronicstate in the low-temperature-low-magnetic-field-loxv-pressture regime below 8 K, 22 T, and 5kbar. Angle dependent magnetoresistance oscillations in the anomalous state were measuredunder high pressure with the magnetic field rotated arotrnd two axes perpendicular to eachother. We studied the topology of' the Fermi strrface below and above the critical pressure (5kbar) to compare the nortnal state with the anomalous one. In the anomalous state, we founda new series of angle dependent magnetoresistance oscillations, In the normal state above thecritical pressure, we found a quasi one-dimensional Fermi surface parallel to the 6'c"-plane. Thisis considered to be responsible for the Fermi strrf'ace nesting that causes the anomalous state.Electronic states are discussed in relation to possible origins of the anonaalotrs state.
