Faraday Rotation and Transition of Spin Configuration in Terbium Iron Garnet at Very High Magnetic Fields

Faraday rotation and magnetization were observed for TbIG in very highmagnetic me?as up to the menasauss ranse for determining t?e critical field or t?espin-flip transition from the collinear phase to the canted phase. The critical fieldwas determined as a function of temperature over ?a wide temperature range.A large anisotropy in the critical field was observed at temperatures lower thanthe compensation point. The magnetic field dependence,of the Faraday rotationat 1.06 gm wavelength, together with its temperature dependence were analyzedby using a formula which takes into account a linear term of the external field.
