Clarification of the Temperature Dependence of the Hall Effect in the Normal State of La_<2-x>Sr_xCuO_4

The anomalous temperature dependence of the Hall effect in the normal state ofI,a.-.Sr,Cu0. is investigated theoretically, based on the electronic structure recentlyderived by Kamimura and Eto, in which holes are accommodated in the Cu d.z upperHubbard band in the normal state. The calculated temperature and concentrationdependences of the Hall coefficient are in good agreement with the experimentalresults by Takagi et al. We also show that the cotangent of the Hall angle is propor-tional to T'. The temperature dependence of the Hall effect is due to the warpedshape of the Fermi surface of the Cu d.z upper Hubbard band.high-7'. superconductor, Hall effect, temperature dependence, LSCO
