The electronic structure of a D - centre in strong magnetic fields is investigatedin the variational approximation. The magnetic freeze-out effect is shown to beenhanced for the spin singlet D state compared to the neutral donor ground state.The spin triplet D state is also shown to be bound under magnetic fields. Theapplicability to a tunable far-infrared detector is also discussed.
