Fatigue Effect and Temperature Dependence in Luminescence of Disordered Silicide Layer Compound:Siloxene (Si_6H_3(OH)_3)

Luminescer..ce of disordered silicide layer compound, i.e., siloxene (Si.H.(OH).)is investigated at low temperatures. Fatigue in the luminescence is observed at4.2 K and 77 K by prolonged irradiation of UV light. This fatigue is recoveredby heating the sample at higher temperature. Inverse Arrhenitts-type temperaturedependence is also observed in 1.he luminescence of siloxene. l'hese results suggestthat the electronic and structural properties of this material ltave a resemblanceto some amorphous materials.
