Hyperfine Interactions for Cu Nuclei in (C_2H_5NH_3)_2CuCl_4

From the angular dependence of the Cu" NMR frequency in the magneticallyordered'?state of (C2H 5 NH3).CuCl., the parameters in the Cu" nuclear spinHamiltonian are determined as follows; H.= -28.5k0e, H,= -27.7kOc,H.= -189.6k0e, P.2:6.00MHZ and t7 = -0.1. From these values, the Fermicontact, dipolar and orbital fields are separately estimated as H,= -114kOe,H d =-4-24.4 k0e, H.7z=-l-8.9 k0e and H..==4 -6.3 k0e. The disagreement if thedipolar and orbital fields with the theoretical estimations is found and is inter-preted as mainly due to the reduction of (3d spin caused by the electron transferfrom the Cl- tons. On the contrary, it is shown tlxat the Fermi contact field i'shardly affected by the ligand tons.
