Flow patterns in an electrohydrodynamic instability of a nematic liquid crystalare investigated in the region from two-dimensional flow (WD) to three-dimen-sional one (GP), using spatial Fourier analysis of patterns. The characteristicbehaviors of two modes perpendicular (q.) and parallel (qj7) to the WD rolls areobtained. The large fluctuations exist in the transition region for both cases, resulting to excite band-like spectra. According to the spectrum of q77, the spa-tially regulated GP comes out clearly at the normalized field k 41.7, whose powerlinearly increases with increase of k.
