Anisotropic Thermal Expansion Coefficients of CeCu_2 Single Crystal under High Pressure

Tlae tlaermal expaxtsic>ua coefficient ce,(T ) of CeCu, single crystal has been measuredup to 20 kbar in the texnperature range froxn 4.2 K to 260 K in order to study theanisotropic behavior of' tlte cv, (7' ) at laigla pressture. It is found t1?at tlae contrubutionof the 4f electron to tlac: Ql,(7') SIIOXVS an anisotropic belaavior; i.e., cx.(T ) and ccz,(17')of CeCu. become similar to tltose of YCu. xvith tlve ajc?vlicatioxa of pressure, but cv,(7? )of CeCu. differs greatly from tltat of YCu. at laigh pressure. A decrcase iu? tlte densityof states at tNte Fernai level is observed at Naigla pressure. Tlae result suggests a pressure-induced crossover frorn the concentrated Kondo st?tic to tlae internaediate valencestate.thermal expansiota,<:eCu., high pressure
