Magnetic Phase Diagram in the Canting Antiferromagnet NdCu_6

For NdCu. with successive four antiferromagnetic transitions below the N<:el fern-perature of 7'.=6.10K, high resolution measurements of the specific heat and acmagnetic susceptibility were performed synchronously in magnetic fields up to 4 T ap-plied along the three crystallographic axes of the orthrohmbic structure. Phasediagrams of NdCu. were derived from the results of field dependences of the fourmagnetic phases corresponding to the four specific heat peaks. The three of thephases disappear at 0.5 T applied along the c-axis, but for the o-axis these almost re-main. We have revealed an unusual feature of the phase diagram in which the threephase lines connect with the spin flop-line for magnetic fields applied along the #-axis.We also discussed the expected magnetic structure of NdCu. with respect to theresults of the magnetic susceptibility measurements.[NdCu., successive transition, specific heat, ac magnetic susceptibility, canting ll antiferromagnet, magnetic phase diagraml
