We haxve rneststrred both the sjcecific hesrt atad the stusceptiloility of' the single crystal PrCtt(3in uaaagnetic fields systetraarticall5' for the first tiutae. Otur taaeasur'ernents perf'oruaaed in fields Ell)to 4.2 T laas rexze?tled the anisotopy; tlae specific laeat decreatses xvith the field xvlxen the field isparallel to the />-axis. Frorra the n'estrlt of' the strsceptibility nae?tstrr'etnent perf'ornued Nut fields upto 5T. xve shoxv tlaat the electronic sjcecific laeaxt coe[licietut 'y decreases f'roraa 16.ll11J/K'-11101at zero field doxvn to 15.5lTlJ/K'-11101 ?tt 4.2T when the field is applied ?xlong the 6-axis. Theincrease of' .N Ell) to 20.8 K at 4.2T frotaa 19.3 K ?tt zero field has been obtained 2[S well from otrranalysis, xvhere A is the energy separation betxveen tlae grottnd st?tte arad the first excited state.On the other hand, 7 ;tnd M reuaa;tin trnchatnged for the field atligned along otlaer orientation. XX7ehave concluded tltat the decrestse of Clue sjoecific heat is attribtrted to tlae iracrease of ,A and tothe redtrction of' 7.
