Two Dimensional Fermi Surfaces of CePtAs and CePtP studied by the de Haas-van Alpen and Magnetoresistance Experiments

• XX'e have fottnd the cylindric;'tl Ferrni strrf'aces of' CePtX (X:As, P) by the de Haas-vaza Alplaen(dHvA) and magraetoresistance experiutuents. This is ttaainly dtre to tl'ue crystal strtncttmre, wherethe nearest neighbor distance between Pi and X atoms on the Pt-X plane is extrezanel3z sltort.The strong hybridization between the Pt 5d(x' - y', xy) and X p(x, y) states makes partiallyocctrpied auati-bonding bands, restrltitag in tlae cylindrical Fertaai strrfaces. The cyclotron efl'ectivel11dSS is liglat, being in tlae range of 0.47 to 0.84mg ['or CePtAs and 0.34 to O.82mg for CePtP.The present experiraaental restrlts are xvell exjclained by the FLAPW batad calctr1?ttions,
