A New Mass-Enhanced Ferromagnet: U_2PtSi_3

We have newly found and succeeded in growing a mass-enhanced ferromagnetU.PtSi.. The electronic specific heat coefficient is 200mJ/K' per mole of U. Themagnetization shows no saturation up to 80 k0e for both the a- and c-axes. Themagnitude of remanence is much smaller compared with the effective moment in theparamagnetic phase. Experimental results on single-crystalline samples are presentedand discussed.
