Heavy-Electron Behavior in a Low-Carrier-Concentration Compound YbAs

概要
- 論文の詳細を見る
Low-temperature specific heat of YbAs has beeut measured down to about 50 mK.In tl?e antiferromagnetic ordered state (T. - 0.5 K), the nuclear contribution is ob-served below about 150 IIIK. By subtraction of this contribution froxn the measuredspecific heat, the Iixaear coefficient of the electronic specific heat is estixnated to beabout 270 mJ / K' mole. Tlais value is extraordinarily large because the carrier concen-tration in YbAs is of the order of 0.01 per formula unit. Tlais large mass enhauacementmay be ascribed to a mutual 4f-sjcin compensation mechanism insteacl of live usualKondo spima fluctuation. We also show tltat the magnetic field effect c>n tlve specificheat is rather small.heavy Ferunioua, YbAs, low-carrier-concentration comjcound
