Core Photoemission Spectra of U_3P_4 and U_3As_4 Single Crystals

The lineshapes of core photoernission spectra of U3P,j and U3As,j single crystals are studied.It is found that the U derived core states show characteristic asynarnetry except for the oxidizedsurface, whereas the asyrranaetry is negligible for the anion derived core states. These results arediscussed by considering the screening effect Icy the U 6d state and hybridization efl'ects. Theconstant final state spectra in the U 5d-+5f' absorption region is also discussed.
