The experinaeratal restrlts slaoxv a large resonant enhance-raaent of 4f photoelectron etaaission arotrnd the 4d threslaold xvith sharper natrltiplet strttcturesthan those reported bef'ore. The calctrlated restrlts arre in good agreetaaent wit.h the experinaentalones both for divalent and triv?tlent feattrres of' Ttta ions. We observed different types of xxalencestructtrres for Tune, TtaaSe and TraaTe cotaapotrnds, dtre to claanage in ttaean valence. XVe haveestituaated the naean valence of' each sanaaple frotn absorjction spectra and froraa off-resonant plao-toermission spectr;t. Tlue taaeaning of these values is disctrssed as cotnpared xvitla tlnose for thevalues obtained frouaa the u'zaeastrretaaents of naagnetic strsceptibilities.
