Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance of Cu in Superconducting (La_<0.925>Sr_<0.075>)_2 CuO_4

Nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) signals of "Cu and "Cu have beendiscovered in the high-7'. superconducting oxide (La..,.,Sr...,).Cu0.at 33.0 MHz and35.3 MHz, respectively. The temperature dependence of the nuclear spin-lattice relax-ation rate l / T. was similar to that of Cu(II) (Cub. plane) in the YBa.Cu,0. ,5 system(Y system). From the behavior of l / T, it is pointed out that the relaxation arisesfrom the same mechanism as that of the Cub. plane in the Y system, where the relaxa-tion in the normal state is considered to be dominated by the spin fluctuations of thenearly localized Cu-3d holes.
